Christmas Eve

EMERGING

From darkness until the first early glow

you quietly awaken our hope, as you show

the movement from glow to first glimpse of the sun,

and tenderly warm us with love from the One

who brings us from glimpse to the full dawn of light,

so our hearts become full of joy and delight;

then you help our awareness to gently increase

and in full dawn of light, guide our steps with your peace.
